AAAAARRRGGHH!!! That was because Rick Ankiel is done for the season with a torn ligament. The Cards also lost today to my brother’s adopted team, the LA Dodgers. And it rained like crazy today, the whole town flooded. My dinner plans were thwarted.

July 9th
Wednesday, July 9th, 2003Today’s the big day, and I suppose it’s drawing to a close in Iran. Here’s the reports out in the local media:
(They’re all the same story)
CNN: Pitched Street Battle in Iran
FOX: Nothing
MSNBC: Street Battles in Iran
SKY: Iran Police Fight Street Battles
BBC: Prayers held for conjoined twins
UN Nuclear Team to visit Iran
You can find more detailed information from Jeff Jarvis’s webpage, I’m guessing that the bulk of news should come out once the Iranian bloggers he’s in contact with get home (here’s hoping they make it home) and make their reports. It appears that at this point, access to services like blogspot are blocked from Iran.

If you haven’t already checked it out, Bill Whittle has an excellent two-part essay, Trinity, up that all the children in the land should read.
Back from the Lou
Monday, July 7th, 2003Back from St. Louis. Pretty good vacation, got to see lots of friends and family. Also ran into this gal, who’s working her way out to LA to be a musician and is a whole lot better looking than Christina Aguiliera. Not a bad voice either. Also got to see the Cards beat San Francisco. And I just read that Pujols got a million all-star votes over the weekend to bump cheating, underperforming Sosa from the All-Star starting team.

I’m in St. Louis, so isn’t it interesting that I’m posting? I came in last night to pick up my mom from the airport. She spent the past month visiting my brother in Los Angeles. In that time, I completely rebuilt her ‘puter and now she has internet access. Am I a heck of a son or what? This should be a fun little vacation: I’m going to the zoo with P and X today, tomorrow is a friend from college’s bachelor party, and Friday is day we celebrate our independence from our closest ally with huge explosions. Good times.
